HOW ONE SCORES:
The scoring system is really very simple, the principal being , the more accurate you prediction, the more points scored, less accurate, less points.
The Person who is most accurate, score most points and wins
SCORING SYSTEM & WHAT ONE SCORES AT EACH STAGE :
Points will be awarded for each Stage of Rugby World Cup as follows:
First Round : The Group Stage Matches
(Predict - A : The Match Outcome, B : The Try Score & C : Match Score Difference )
A : The Match Outcome:
Enter the Match Outcome you Predict in the 1st cell as prompted.
For Predicting Correct Match Outcome - WIN or LOSE 5 Points.
For Predicting Correct Match Outcome - DRAW 10 Points.
(Given a Draw in Rugby is a rare occurrence , if predicted correct you would score double points)
B : The Try Score:
Enter the number of Tries you Predict each Team will Score - Winners and Losers
Exact Full Correct Match TRY Score - Both Teams 10 Points
Half Correct Match TRY Score - Tries for either Team ONLY correct 5 Points
Proximity Points A, B C & D : (Points available for being 1, 2, 3 or 4 Trys out.)
Consolation points if your Try score is just 1 Try out, on either side but not both. 4 Points.
Consolation points if your Try score is 2 Tries out, on either side but not both. 3 Points.
Consolation points if your Try score is 3 Tries out, on either side but not both. 2 Points.

C : Match Score Difference:
Predict the Final Match Score Difference for each Match
For exact correct Prediction you score : 15 Points
For Every 1 point out on Actual Score Difference - You score ONE points less than 15 Points
Note: These Points are only scored when the Predicted Outcome is correct.
The Total Points Available Per Group Stage Match (with a win/lose result) is 30 Points.
The Max Points Available for all 40 Group Stage Matches (win/lose) is 1200 Points
Group Outcomes - Final Table Positions :
For Predicting the Correct Position of EACH Country in EACH Group 10 Points.
Total Points available for EACH Full Group Outcome Totally Correct is 50 Points.
Maximum Points Available for All Group Outcomes Correct is 200 Points
The Quarter-Finals Round
(You now have your "8 Countries" positions Predicted)
For each Exactly Correct Prediction into the "Quarter Finals" Round you Score 15 Points.
For each Partially Correct Prediction, that is Wrongly Placed you Score 10 Points.
(see note below regarding "Exactly Correct" and "Partially Correct")
The Semi-Finals Round
For each Exactly Correct Prediction into the "Semi Finals" Round you Score 20 Points.
For each Partially Correct Prediction, that is Wrongly Placed you Score 15 Points.
The Finals Round
For Each Team Predicted to reach WORLD CUP FINAL, by any route you Score 30 Points.
For Each Team Predicted to reach 3rd PL PLAY-OFF, by any route you Score 20 Points.
For Correctly Predicting the 3rd PLACE PLAY-OFF Winners you Score 40 Points.
For Correctly Predicting the RUGBY WORLD CUP 2011 Winners you Score 60 Points.
Maximum Points Available for The Knock-Out Stage Matches 400 Points
The Maximum Overall Points Available to Score is 1800 Points
(So plenty of points to fight for.)
Notes on "Exactly Correct" and Partially Correct"
For Example: Say in Group A you Predict New Zealand as Group Winners and France in 2nd place
Both Countries are now placed into specific locations in the "Quarter Finals"
If that proves to be correct, then you are "Exactly Correct" & you score 15 points for each, ie 30 points.
However, say France actually win Group A and New Zealand are in 2nd place.
Then while you have Predicted two correct Countries to progress, they are now in different positions.
You now have them "Partially Correct" and hence "Wrongly Placed" in the Quarter Finals
In this case you score less points for each - 10 points each , ie 20 points total.
All may sound complicated - but its really easy and straight forward.
